I'm honored to have interned at your Van den Borne Aardappelen farm because of the importance of your commitment to agricultural innovation and sustainability, particularly in potato farming. Your farm is renowned for its advanced use of technology, including digital tools and smart sensors to optimize production, reduce environmental impact and improve crop efficiency. This innovative approach fits perfectly with my aspirations to develop practical skills in precision farming and understand how to combine productivity and respect for the environment.
My goal during this internship was to familiarize myself with these cutting-edge technologies and gain first-hand experience in managing a modern, large-scale farm. I would also like to learn best practices in sustainable cultivation and resource efficiency, while contributing to the day-to-day operations of the farm.

During my internship, I had the opportunity to work on various aspects of potato production, with a particular focus on the mechanics and maintenance of farm equipment. I was involved in the maintenance of the machines used with Pjotr.
One of the key moments of my internship was involvement in potato sampling. This task involved taking representative samples of production to assess crop quality, size and yield, enabling crop management techniques to be adjusted in real time.
At the end of potato planting, I assisted with the final stages of tuber setting.
Finally, I also contributed to the start of the potato harvest.  I learned practical harvest management skills, from using the equipment to storing the harvested produce.
