Internship experiences Ton Wilgers

As part of the project internship of the study Horticulture & Arable Farming I did an internship at van den Borne potatoes. During this internship I worked on optimizing cultivation by variable planting of potatoes along spray paths and in shadow zones and the effect of planting potatoes with wide belts. I was also the first student who started collecting data through crop measurements to determine the yield potential. One of the nice learning moments (and also interesting result of my measurements) was the effect of planting with wide bands. I live in the Deventer area, so I used the living space on the farm during the internship. After the internship at van den Borne I carried out my graduation project for a golf course manager. During this period I looked at the possibilities of bottom sensors on golf courses.
