Internship at Van den Borne Potatoes

As a gardener's son, I always had an interest in arable farming, this interest arose from the combination of cultivation, machine and the outdoors. This was my last internship for me, so I wanted to work for an arable farmer. After a detour I finally came to "Van den Borne potatoes". Van de Borne is a progressive company in the field of applying technology in the company, with the aim of creating returns by, for example, improving cultivation or reducing current costs.

My assignment was to optimize the irrigation. By making the ideals pump reel combination, with the aim of reducing the fuel costs of the current equipment. In addition, I set up the test together with Jacob for variable irrigation. During my internship I had to learn a lot because I had little background knowledge, but the greater the challenge. During the graduation internship I learned to look at a plant in a different way with the basis of "Precision agriculture". In the future I want to focus on precision horticulture.
