Internship experiences Jip van Rooij

For my 3rd year on the helicon, I did a 10 week internship at van den Borne potatoes. During my internship I was allowed to help with everything that was going on at the company.
In the beginning my work mainly consisted of small jobs on the farm in preparation for the harvest season, such as tinkering with the cisterns or the harvester, but also hosing down conveyor belts, etc. I also helped with sampling the potatoes and with data from the collect samples.
When the harvesting season started, I was able to drive a lot with harvesting. Using the cultivation registration app Dacom I was able to find out which of the approximately 200 plots I should be on. I drove from start to finish and can see how almost all sheds were filled. These were fun and educational days.
It is a beautiful company with nice people who have helped me well and have given every opportunity to learn a lot. We had also been to the Potato Europe fair in Belgium with the entire company.
