Internship experiences Lars Horsten

As part of the project internship of the Horticulture and Arable Farming program, I did an internship at van den Borne potatoes. During this internship I was responsible for the seed potato test field, which was created with 5 different tests (planting depth, planting date, OWG, origin and sorting). I supervised and kept this test from planting to spray-painting. In addition, I worked with Jacob on sampling his potato plots. This was a great learning moment for me because it helps you understand the growth of potatoes.

Immediately after my internship I started to graduate. This internship assignment entails finding precision agriculture applications for golf course management. The knowledge about precision farming that I gained at Van den Borne potatoes has given me a big head start for this project.

All in all, I look back on a very successful internship. During this internship I learned a lot about potato and seed potato cultivation, precision agriculture and I was able to expand my network in a beautiful way.
