Step 4: Organic fertilizer spring

Prior to potato cultivation, fields are fertilized with cattle slurry or pig slurry to provide the soil with organic matter and nutrients. This manure can also be spread variably on the basis of, for example, the soil scan. However, it is still very difficult to control the variable fertilization of slurry on, for example, the nitrogen content. This is because slurry mixes very quickly and there is therefore too much variation in cubic meters of manure. So it is only possible to control the amount of manure that is spread. However, it can be determined with the help of an NIR sensor how much nitrogen has been spread in each zone of the plot. An example is given in the image below.
