During my studies at the Fontys Hogeschool Bachelor Automotive in Eindhoven, I took a minor. The minor I took was the minor "technology arable farming and open field vegetables" which was given by CAH Vilentum in Dronten. For this minor, an internship had to be done at an arable farm. My preference was for an innovative and progressive company. That is why I contacted van den Borne potatoes.

My internship assignment mainly consisted of adjusting the string bed planter. Here we have mounted the ridging hood of one of the cup planters. This adjustment saves one pass. We have also adapted this ridging hood to make M-beds. Due to this adjustment, the back has a larger volume. As a result, there is less chance of green potatoes and for drier periods, more moisture is available in the soil around the potatoes. We were able to immediately apply and test these adjustments in the field in the spring.
I enjoyed the course of the internship. It was fun and educational. You get the opportunity to develop yourself and they take the time to teach you something. {Hein}
